Makhwaen Whole Peppercorns

Whole makhwaen husks from Nan Province in northern Thailand, supplied as Zanthoxylum myriacanthum. This citrus-family spice brings lime and mandarin-peel aroma, pine notes and a gentle tingle rather than chilli heat. It is related to, but distinct from, spices sold under other regional names such as mắc khén.

Crush shortly before use in northern Thai laab, curry pastes, grilled-food rubs or soups. The whole husks are packed in a resealable pouch in Latvia. Choose 25 g or 50 g. Store sealed, cool and dry.
